Alice M. Peiler

Alice Peiler has been practicing law in Contra Costa County for twenty years in both the state and federal court systems. Over the years she has developed expertise in a broad variety of legal areas. The majority of her current practice involves counseling and representing clients in matters involving business torts, contract disputes, and real estate and construction matters.

Ms. Peiler began her professional career in 1981 as a litigation attorney with Burnhill, Morehouse, Burford, Schofield and Schiller in Walnut Creek where she litigated a wide range of matters including construction and real estate disputes, and major personal injury actions. She joined Smith, Merrill & Peffer, one of the predecessor entities of Greenan, Peffer, Sallander and Lally, LLP, in 1994.

Ms. Peiler is a native New Yorker who earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York in 1965. Upon graduation, she attended C.W. Post University in Greenvale, New York, where she studied for a degree in library science, while working as an Assistant Librarian. She then spent a number of years raising a family of three children, while she acted as chief administrator for a preschool, pursued passage of a New York legislative matter, and engaged in various volunteer activities.

Ms. Peiler moved to California in 1974 and attended the evening division of the University of San Francisco Law School, while she continued to raise her family. She earned her law degree in 1980, receiving awards for excellence in family law and oral advocacy.

Ms. Peiler currently resides in Walnut Creek. She is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, as well as its Litigation and Women's sections. She is a past officer of the Women's section.
